I love knitting too. It's quite weird though, because I do it far more when I'm stressed, so whenever I don't do much knitting I end up feeling slightly pleased. And good luck with a scarf! Mine is a fair bit wider than I'd intended because I accidentally cast on ten more stitches than I had planned to.
That sounds awesome! Nearly all the history teachers I've had over the years have been a little eccentric. Mainly because most of them really love it!
