Day Nine

In your own space, create a fanwork. A drabble, a ficlet, a podfic, or an icon, art or meta or a rec list. A picspam. Something. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Day 10

In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing. It can be a detailed, thoughtful analysis, or a squeeful, joyful post. Or maybe a combination of the two. Make a recs list, link to their archives or master lists or websites, maybe create a Fanlore page for them. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Day 11

In your own space, share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favourite interview, a book) and explain why you love it so much. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Day Twelve

In your own space, rec at least three fanworks that you think would make a good intro into XYZ fandom. Rec a fandom overview, a introductory picspam, stories that define and shape the fandom. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

If at all possible, try to pick a smaller or rarer fandom, one that maybe doesn't have the following you feel it should.

Skipping!

Day 13

In your own space, ask for recs. Something as simple as "I like XYZ (where XYZ is a kink, a pairing, a trope, etc) - please rec me some." Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Stretch yourself a little and try something new. Go play in a new fandom or with a new pairing. Try working in a new medium. Or consume different fanworks. Give that new fandom a go. Listen to a podfic or watch some vids if you haven’t before. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it.

Day 7

In your own space, share something non-fannish about yourself. A passion or a hobby or a talent, something that people might not know about you. We are more than just our fandoms. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

So, I've been meaning to post this for ages. Anyway, [personal profile] leish made me cover art for If You Liked the Book, You'll Hate the Movie. And it's awesome. Look at it! Seriously, thank you so much Leisha. It's fabulous (as are you).

Look! Look at the awesome! )

So, a little while ago Frank posted a picture of labelled MCR scissors. We then had a conversation about it. We then podficced it. You can find it here! :D

I'm beginning to think that I should write down my mental fannish to-do list. I keep forgetting what I want to do when I actually have internet access. Whilst I was at work I could remember most of it, but now I can only remember bits of it. This would be much easier if I didn't have such an aversion to to-do lists. I refer to them as "helpful prompt notes" as otherwise I panic.

So! Something I meant to mention ages ago but forgot. [personal profile] leish recorded a podfic of my not!fic So, Everyone Plays Cricket. It's amazing and wonderful and just incredible. <3 Also, she made the most beautiful coverart to go with it. I can't express my love for the whole thing enough really. You can check it out here.

Also, [personal profile] crazybutsound made me some awesome icons to show my love for podfic. My face was a massive, ridiculous grin for ages afterwards.

I'm really looking forward to [community profile] remopodmo as well. I've had a bit of a block lately and it couldn't have come at a better time. I will get this stuff done.

I don't think I have anything else to say particularly. [livejournal.com profile] bandomreversebb was amazing and wonderful. I've still got lots of fic to read and I'm also hoping to listen to some mixes. I consume music really slowly so that'll probably take more time but I'm looking forward to it.

So, this is coming up! I don't know much about it but I'm still so excited. I try and feedback to those who made the podfics I listen to, but I don't think I always do a good job so something like this is brilliant. A little extra incentive for me to go and gush at all the wonderful people who make me life so much happier through the magic of podfic.

(Also, I really need to go out and find a podfic icon. I love podfic so much and I have no icon to show my love through!)

So, today something really exciting happened. [personal profile] leish made me cover art for my podfic of Always Looking Up by [personal profile] inlovewithnight It is amazing and beautiful and I am in awe and in love and everything.

So, I've signed up to pinch hit for brbb, which is simulataneously terrifying and incredibly exciting. So, everybody start hoping I can come up with something which is 5000 words of coherency? I've started, but it's currently disjointed sentences and has "What's going on here? SHORT ANSWER: I DON'T KNOW" written at the bottom. I think I'm going to try and figure out an outline or something first but continue to note down the odd sentence as it comes to me.

[livejournal.com profile] mrsronweasley is hosting a love meme, so go share some love with all the wonderful people there. My thread can be found here  if anyone would like to drop by it.

Today has been weird. I got loads done around the house but felt like I'd achieved nothing. My Mum suggested that it might be because I hadn't done anything for me. So I went and started to edit the recording I've made for my next podfic and pretty much immediately felt like I'd achieved way more which was good. I'm trying not to think about how much editing I've got left to do though. I had meant to split it up a bit more but the opportunity arose to get some more recording done which I took but now I have loads to do in one go. Ah well, I do enjoy it. I just have to keep reminding myself that.

First of all, a MASSIVE THANK YOU (one totally deserving of capslock) to [livejournal.com profile] tabula_x_rasa for the heart. Seriously hun, thank you so much. *smushes you*

Secondly, everyone should go check out the Awesome Ladies Podfic Anthology II! It is an amazing anthology of podfic of 104 stories, written by 86 authors, read by 47 podficcers in 64 fandoms. It is utterly amazing and wonderful and the people who compiled it have put in an amazing amount of work and it is absolutely epic. I recorded 2 podfics. One in Lewis fandom about Innocent and one in Sherlock fandom about Mrs Hudson. It's been fantastic listening to all of them. So many podficcers I haven't heard before! I'm only half an hour in and the massive smile on my face just isn't going away. You should all go check it out!

Lastly, I have joined twitter. I'm croissantkatie over there too if anyone wants to find me. I've already found a bunch of amazing podficcers which is absolutely brilliant.

Whilst recording podfic today, I kept saying murdered instead of murmured. I then had to spend a fair amount of time not saying "there's been a murder!" in my poor excuse for a Scottish accent a la Taggart. I think this is the final conclusive proof that I watch too many murder mysteries. Clearly the obvious way to spend the rest of my day is to go watch Lewis.

I spent a fair amount of time knitting whilst watching Lewis yesterday. Despite having the DVDs of nearly the entirety of Lewis, I haven't watched any in far too long. I'm also hoping to actually finish knitting the scarf I've been making on and off for over a year. It's rather ugly and uneven but I am very fond of it. It's going to be very warm though which is the main thing.

[livejournal.com profile] no_tags has started posting which is incredibly exciting. I'm trying to comment on things as I'm a bit rubbish at that most of the time and I'm trying to make an effort.

In other news, I had a great time in Nottingham and have actually been keeping reasonably busy. So that's good!
