I find the Reign of Terror fascinating. Like, everyone is trying to be all "enlightened" and scientific and it manifests itself in this period of kind of mass panic and execution. And yeah. I nearly picked the entire French Revolution tbh.
When uni starts up again, I'm taking a module on Europe and the Islamic World and I am SO EXCITED. We looked at it briefly in one of my modules this year and it was my favourite part. I can't wait to look at it more in depth.
Seriously, if you ever want to hit me up to discuss any of those people or history in general. I love history so much. Although my knowledge is spotty in places for obvious reasons!
Also, my choices were partly influenced by what I could refer to as a specific "event" within history. Like, the how the French dealt with the problems of colonisation and medicine in comparison to the British. And how the lack of knowledge about what actually caused scurvy was a good thing in the long run because it led to improvements in all sorts of areas, not just diet. And the Russian attitude to westernisation and modernisation and how sometimes those are the same thing and sometimes they're not.

And I will stop rambling now!
