Day 2

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

This was a bit harder this year. So! A request for some things I've been enjoying in fandom recently. And music!

1) Recs for fanworks with femslash in them.
2) Recs for fanworks with soulbonds in them
3) Music recs!
4) And as is tradition! If you've been considering it, or have ever wanted your work podficced or remixed or anything like that, please consider posting a transformative works statement. They do wonders to encourage people to transform your fanworks!

3) If you like metal and fantasy, I recommend Blind Guardian and Rhapsody of Fire. :)

You're welcome! I recommend 'Nightfall in Middle Earth' for starting with Blind Guardian, and 'Symphony of Enchanted Lands' for Rhapsody of Fire. :)

I'm going to (sort of) combine #1 and #3, and rec you two femslashy songs/music videos: Tyttöjen välisestä ystävyydestä ('About friendship between girls') and Sisko tahtoisin jäädä ('Sister, I would like to stay').

I also have an old rec-post for Finnish music by female artists.

And for an actual femslashy fanwork: Babylon 5 fanvid Hallelujah by Morgaine (Talia/Ivanova - canon femslash, baby!)

As for #4, just a note that I've had a transformative works statement in my AO3 profile for a couple of years ;)

(I really wanted to find something for your #2 as well, but the only soulbond fic I have read is a noncon The Mentalist fic which is probably not what you're looking for ;) )

Have you heard Dar Williams' beautiful music before? I was lucky enough to hear her in concert a few years ago, and she's just fabulous--haunting lyrics, beautiful voice. Love her so much! :)

Dropping by from the Snowflake Challenge post to leave you a music rec. A band I discovered this year is Admiral Fallow. The Paper Trench is a good song to start with of theirs. It's sort of folky pop, very catchy.

Okay...

I have two lesbian series, The Adventures of Aldornia and Zenobia, and Walking the Beat. The Origami Mage and Path of the Paladins are F&F rather than F/F if you're also into that.

I write a lot of F&F, some F/F. The examples I named are just the ones that specialize in one of those. You might also enjoy my QUILTBAG list.

Folks can also request more of those or new characters in any open prompt call. I usually do a Poetry Fishbowl on the first Tuesday of each month and the Creative Jam on the third weekend.

Dear Katie, thank you for asking more people to post transformative works statements. You are sunshine and rainbows. :)

As for music recs, have you heard of the Minnesota rapper Dessa? She's not at all what people think when they think of rap music. Dessa expertly crafts her music to tell a story, all the while keeping a consistent metaphor throughout the song. I highly recommend her album A Badly Broken Code. Her most recent album is good, but a little depressing, so steer clear of that one, if you're looking for a pick-me-up.
