Thank you so much for taking part in Yuletide! I hope you're happy with the fandom we matched on and that your yuletide goes as smoothly as possible. I would absolutely love a story for any of these fandoms!
A few hardcore do not wants: suicide, self-harm, mental health issues and pregnancy
When it comes to fic, I like happy endings, angst and drama along the way is fine (I even rather like it!) but I really do prefer for things to be resolved (happily) at the end. I am a sucker for a found family and people finding their people. I’d be happy to receive in canon or au fic for all of these fandoms. I have a horrible love of puns and wordplay. I like genfic and teamfic and porny fic, but mostly I love people having feelings (and people having feelings together).

The Mrs Bradley Mysteries
Characters – Adela Bradley, George Moody
I saw one episode of this on tv, absolutely fell in love with it and immediately bought the dvd so I could watch all the other episodes. I adore murder mysteries, particularly historical ones and ones with a female detective. I love the way Adela approaches crimes and thinks about things so precisely and scientifically. I also love her forthrightness, cynicism, sense of humour and strong opinions. She has some rather progressive for the time views and I think that could be something interesting to explore. Another thing I am really interested in is the relationship between Adela and George. I am firmly of the opinion that something is going on between them, but if that’s not your bag, exploring their relationship without a sexual or romantic slant would also interest me. If that is your thing however, please go for it and I would totally be happy with fic about their relationship, explicit and porny or not. Some thoughts I have which might lead you to ideas – what is their relationship like, and how is it different, in public and in private? Is there any tension with Inspector Christmas? What do others, maybe her son, think of them? How did George end up in Mrs Bradley’s employ? Alternatively, if you feel like writing casefic or an accompaniment to one of their cases, those would be wonderful. To be perfectly honest, any fic about the Mrs Bradley Mysteries would be amazing! This is the kind of fandom which I think should have oodles of fic and sadly doesn’t – maybe one day though!
Albert Campion - Margery Allingham
Characters - Any
I came to Albert Campion the same way I came to the Mrs Bradley Mysteries – I saw one episode on tv, fell in love and then immediately bought the dvd. Following that, I then started to read the books and loved them as well. I’m more of a fan of the whimsy and playfulness of the earlier books (and the tv series) than the more gritty and psychological tone some of the later books develop. I love the way it pokes fun at the trope of the gentleman detective. I find Campion fascinating – the way he hides his intelligence behind such a bland face. I adore the way Peter Davison portrayed him. I love all the little hints about who Campion really is. There’s so much about him which is left unsaid. I also really like Lugg – he is in my opinion the perfect companion and foil for Campion. He’s so gruff and unlike a proper polished butler with his manners, attitude and criminal history. I love Amanda and her enthusiasm and her engines. Oates also provides such an interesting contrast to Campion as a member of the police, rather than someone operating outside. I really enjoy the relationships between all the characters, so anything about that would be wonderful. Alternatively, casefic or something to accompany a case from the existing canon.
Buzzfeed: Worth It (Web Series)
Characters – Any
This series has become something of a happy place for me. It’s just so nice and warm and welcoming. I think Andrew and Steven compliment each other so incredibly well when presenting this. I love them both and their personalities. I also really like the progression and almost narrative/emotional arc you can see between them – how Andrew slowly grows more willing to food cheers and then ends up initiating it, and the things that could mean about their relationship and opening up and letting someone in. I also love Adam and the little bits we get to see of him. Rie is my not so secret fave, I love how smart and nice and smiley she is. I've also loved the small bits we've got to see of Annie we've got to see in series 6. I love her a lot and she is like sunshine, so anything with her would be a bonus. I definitely ship Steven/Andrew, but I am also totally down for genfic if that’s more your thing. I’d also be happy with polyfic involving Steven and Andrew and anyone else in the nominated characters for this fandom – how would that work, what would the dynamic be, how do they fit together – all of them at once or two at a time? The thing that gets me about this series really is the different ways of showing someone you care (through food for example), so something about that would be awesome.
Ocean's 8
Characters – Any
This movie made me so happy. I think I sat in the cinema with a massive grin on myself for the entire film. What can I say, I like ladies being awesome. I loved all the characters so if you wanted to focus on just one of them and write a character study that would be great! Alternatively, I was really interested in the different ways they interacted as a group (all of them or just some of them) so something about that would be awesome. These are all characters and dynamics I would love to know more about. We get little glimpses of their past shared histories – what were those like? What are their shared futures going to be like? What are their relationships with their families we see little snippets of? How does the heist change their lives? I definitely ship Debbie/Lou, so anything featuring that would be marvellous. If you felt like exploring a romantic or sexual relationship between some of the others, that would be great too! I loved how much fun it felt everyone was having in this movie. Heists are just so up my street, so if you wanted to go down that route, awesome! To be honest, the main thing I want out of a fic in this fandom is the characters having fun.
North and South
Characters – John Thornton, Margaret Hale
Ok, the tv series of this killed me with emotions. I love John and Margaret, and John and Margaret together. I love the way they change and develop over the course of the series. I would love something exploring their relationship with each other. I would absolutely be interested in porn for this. I think this post from tumblr really sums up how I feel that would work better than I ever could. I want Margaret to take John apart and put him back together again and for John to be thankful for and enjoy every minute of it. If that’s not your bag, something which explores their relationship in a different way would be wonderful. How do they work together as a couple? How do they navigate their futures together? I also really love the history we’re shown – this isn’t a period of history I really know anything about and have never really found super interesting, but I was really interested in it here, the dynamics it resulted in, and the class element, so if you feel like exploring that, please go for it! On the flip side, how do you think Margaret and John work in a different time and/or place?
